FIFS Employees Earn CISR Designation

Personal Lines Agents Corrie, left, and Katie recently earned their CISR designation.

Congratulations are in order for Corrina L. Neff and Katelyn D. Whitcomb, both Personal Lines Agents at FIFS. They recently earned the Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR) designation.

“My manager, Chad Yoder, encouraged me to go for the designation,” says Katie, “but I also wanted to do it to build my skills in the insurance world and learn more.”

Corrie’s reasons were similar, “I felt that it was my next step after getting my property and casualty license. Also, it gave me more in-depth knowledge on specific topics that related to what I was working with.”

Passing Difficult Classes
To receive the designation, Corrie and Katie completed five courses and five challenging examinations. Courses include:

  • Insuring Personal Residential Property
  • Insuring Personal Auto Exposures
  • Insuring Commercial Property
  • Insuring Commercial Casualty Exposures
  • Agency Operations

“The classes relating to personal auto and homeowners were the most helpful because they related to what I am doing,” says Corrie.

Katie found the Agency Operations course applied greatly to her every day work, “It was probably one of the easiest courses, but it covered topics such as customer service skills. It was good to go through all that information.”

CISR participants are part of The National Alliance for Insurance Education & Research, a comprehensive educational system which includes the Certified Insurance Counselors (CIC) Program, the Certified Risk Managers ( CRM) Program, and The National Alliance Research Academy.
