I’m going on vacation this spring and will need to rent a car. Should I purchase rental car insurance?
Most auto policies provide similar coverage for a rental car as they do for your personal vehicle. One area not usually covered by your personal auto insurance is the full replacement cost of the rental vehicle in the event the rental is totaled. There may be a gap between the value your insurance company gives the damaged car and the value the rental car company requires for replacing the vehicle.
