Karla J. Myers Promoted to Property & Casualty Operations Manager

FIFS announces the promotion of Karla Myers to Property & Casualty (P&C) Operations Manager. The beginning of 2008 marked a transition for Karla from Projects Coordinator to the new position. Her first task included a complete overhaul of the Policy & Procedures Manual, and currently involves an extensive agency management system update.
Karla began working at FIFS in 1997 as a Personal Lines Customer Service Agent (CSA), and then became a Commercial Lines CSA. In 2004 she spent six months focused on creating a paperless environment in the P&C Department. From there, her job developed into helping establish procedures for the P&C Department, especially using computer software in a paperless environment. “My desire is to find the most efficient workflows for our department,” says Karla.

Enhancing the P&C Department
Creating a paperless environment is just one way Karla improved efficiency at FIFS. As the P&C Operations Manager she also develops and oversees department procedures, service standards, provides computer training, and monitors workflows. “Software is constantly being enhanced, enabling us to improve and make changes in how we work,” says Karla.

“In today’s environment you need consistency, clear procedures, and ways of tracking employee performance. Auditing and managing workflows for consistency is an integral part of Karla’s role here,” says Chad Yoder, Personal Lines Manager. “Additionally, her gifts and abilities fully complement and round out the FIFS management team.”

Karla received her B.S. in Business from Goshen College and holds the designation of Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR). She is currently working toward her Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation and also serves as the President of ASCnet East Penn Users Group, an organization of independent agents using the same agency management software.
